Sunday Afternoons

The perfect way to spend the afternoon. Yes, that's sweet tea. I know, I know, I'm a west coast girl and we don't do sweet tea there, but I'm starting to like it. However, I still don't like it as sweet as some of the people down here. And for you southern folks who do like sweet tea, I learned a secret...add a pinch of baking soda and it takes away the bitterness.

Spinach RIP

Well the spinach in our garden died. We have no idea why it wouldn't grow, but we decided to pull it out today. We spent the afternoon weeding and watering. Even Gunnar went with us, but he got hot very quickly.

After Looking for Gas.

We had to find gas because we planned to have dinner with Rob and Danielle. We had a yummy dinner and homemade apple pie and then played Cataan. We tried to find gas on the way home to finish filling up the car, but no luck.

There's No Gas in Georgia

That's right, there's very little gas in Georgia right now. Here's our story about filling up 1 car tonight. We still have to put gas in Chris' car. This is gas station #1. It was 5:30 pm and the gas station was completely out of gas and was planning on getting a shipment around 8:30pm. These people started getting in line at 5pm!!!This is gas station #2 no gas at all. This is gas station # 3 no gas here either. It is now 5:51 pm and we're at gas station #4. Here's the line. This is how we feel. And this is the time it was when we finally got gas. That's right folks 53 minutes in line to get 1/2 a tank of gas.
Today we spent the day at our church, Christian Church Buckhead (CCB) doing demo. We were making a green room for the band and painting. It was alot of fun, but very dirty.

90210

So I watched the new Beverly Hills 90210 tonight...was the original a lot cooler, or was I just 15 years younger?

Surprise!!! Part 2

Last summer, Chris took some pictures of a friend of mine's daughters. Tina found this frame with her daughter's pictures at Walmart, and let me know. So tonight, I went to Walmart to search out the picture frame and found it. It's alot of fun to find Chris' pictures.

Surprise!!!!

I have a surprise for Chris tonight that I want to share with you...but you'll have to wait until he opens it. Any guesses?

Food Network

I will confess, I love the Food Network. I also love trying new recipes, so very rarely do we eat the same thing twice...ever. This has of course resulted in a few late night Chic-Fil-A runs, due to a recipe disaster. Lately though I've discovered Ellie Kreiger on the Food Network. She is a dietician, so she has recipes that are very good for you and make sure that you get in all the vitamins and nutrients you need as well, and doesn't just focus on calories. So far everything I have made in her cookbook has been fantastic, even Chris agrees, and he's not normally much for "healthy food." Tonight we made Buffalo Chicken Salad and was evn able to use the lettuce from our garden. I highly recommend trying some of her recipes.

Yeah but...

GO DAWGS!

Clarification

For those of you who are so completely disgusted by our previous post, we really could care less about any football team. I know, we're sorry, but we'd definitely join you for any football parties and root for your team. We're from the northwest...football is not a religion there.

Go Dawgs!!!!!

There are many different things from living on the west coast to living in the south, but perhaps the biggest difference is the obsession with college football. Trust me, there is not anyone on the west coast that is a bigger fan than a southerner. This was a set up in a neighborhood getting ready for the UGA vs Arizona State. Final Score UGA 27, Arizona 10. Go Dawgs!!!!

Antebellum...

...meaning before war. In the south it is known as the time before the Civil War. We took a road trip today to Madison, GA, which is about 1 hour east of GA. This town has been rated the #1 small town in America and is known for it's antebellum homes. It is a really cute town and a nice way to get out of the city. This house is for sale. Isn't it great!!!

Dinner and a Movie

We went out last night to Atlantic Station to have dinner and go see a movie. For those of you back in Oregon, Atlantic Station is very much like Bridgeport, but the parking is a little better. We had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, which is always yummy, and then we went to see Burn After Reading. This was one of the weirdest movies we've seen in a long time. I'm still not sure I understand what it's about. If any of you have seen it, let us know what you thought.

Bare Minerals

I looooove Bare Minerals makeup, so you can imagine my delight when I received a new shipment of eye shadows today in the mail. Ladies if you haven't tried it, believe the infomercials, this stuffs great. But for those of you that already use the stuff, how do you keep your counters clean?

Survey

So I came home today to find an interesting email. It was from a GA Tech PhD candidate that is doing some sort of research project, and wants to interview people that write blogs. At first I was a little skeptical, but after clicking on the link, the phone numbers seem legit (meaning, they have the correct area codes to be a GA phone number). Anyways, I figured I would start the survey and if they asked any personal information I would skip that question. The email also asked if I would send the survey link to other friends of mine who are blogging. So here's the website if you would like to participate: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=xkVRkuhvvuiOIMrFDIxkLA_3d_3d Who knows maybe this persons research will end up in it's own chapter in a sociology textbook or something like that, and I figure that now as an Atlantan it's my responsibility to help Tech out.

Unexpected Date Night

Tonight Chris and I were able to take an unexpected date night. We were given tickets to the Braves game by Derek and Micki. Thanks!!! We enjoyed ballpark food, and it was even kind of chilly, which is strange. We were told by one of the ushers that this Indian Guy has been too 913 consecutive games...wow!!

Today was a good day for everyone. It was start of my second week at ACRM which was great, although I feel like I'm never going to learn all the lab work and the medications. When Chris and I were got home, we were able to enjoy a glass of one of our favorite wines, Smoking Loon Merlot. We highly recommend it to you. Especially if you don't enjoy red wine, it's a good place to start. Gunnar had a great day too. Not only did he get a new bag of dog food (which he finds exciting) and a new bag of treats...but he got a new tennis ball!!! Not really exciting for you people folks, but it's like winning the lottery to him. And the really special thing about this tennis ball, is that it squeaks. He's obsessed with sqeaky toys and this ones harder to destroy. I was also able to spend sometime tonight stamping and making cards. This is really relaxing to me and I love it. Here's the card I made tonight. And the best part of the day...we got a new digital camera!!! Even though Chris has all of his big camera and lenses, they're not easy to stick in my purse just to have with us. After 5 years of lugging around our old digital camera, we got a new one today.

The Simple Things in Life

We have lived in our apartment for 8 months and it wasn't until today that I went out and bought drawers for my pants and sweaters. Now I can actually get to all of my stuff easily. I know, weird things make me happy.

Restaraunt Review - Fox and Hounds

Tonight we had dinner together with our connect group...well most of it. Ian and Jen are somewhere while Ian is competing in a triathlon, and I'm not sure what Halee and Adam are up too, but they couldn't make it either. We had dinner at a pub right down the street from our house, Fox and Hounds. The food is pretty good. The best fish and chips since Gustavs in Portland.
