New Life

For those of you that are getting excited, no we are not having a baby. But we do have some great new things coming up in our life. First and foremost, we will be welcoming Addison Price Amspoker our new neice into the world on August 26. We cannot wait to meet her, but we'll have to wait until Christmas to see her in person. This is the quilt that I made for Addie. And we must say congratulations to Joel and Peggy Retzlaff who will be welcoming twins in February. I will also be starting a new job in two weeks. I will be be a primary nurse at the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine. I know that it is gong to be a whirlwind first few weeks as I brush up on my embryonic physiology, but I am really looking forward to it. I always felt that I had been blessed to care for people as they brought new life into this world, but now I will be able to care for people when they're at their lowest and then celebrate with them when they conceive. Very few people are ever let into this deep part of people's lives, and I truly recognize the blessing it will be. I'm not for once though going to kid myself that this will be easy, but I can't wait to add one more area of expertise in my nursing career. I also had a fun morning at our apartment. A few times a year, the property supplies plants to it's residents for a vegetable garden. So this morning, in the humid rain (thanks Hurricane Fay) I planted lettuce, spinach, broccoli, and parsley. I've never kept much alive in the garden, but I'm hoping this will be a first. Hopefully we'll be able to eat them, but I hear we have a vegetable thief who may pick our veggies before us.
