Be the Match

Many of you know back in February started a long series of events for me (Caitlin) at the doctor's office. Long story short I have been discharged from the oncologists office with a diagnosis of mono and also an elevated cystothionine level. Now this diagnosis did not come until after countless blood tests, xrays, CT scans, and even a bone marrow biopsy. I left the oncologists office feeling very blessed that I did not have a cancer diagnosis and very aware that many people aren't so lucky. I decided that the least I could do to support these people was to join the National Marrow Donor Program. I sent my swabs off today. If you feel compelled to join as well, click here.

What our healthcare system has come to

About a month ago, I sliced through my finger while chopping through a red bell pepper. We proceeded to our nearest ER and after a few hours of waiting, was discharge with just a bandaid. Anyways, today I received a letter in the mail from BCBSGA asking me how my accident happened. Looks like they were trying to get either my auto insurance to pay (if the accident was auto related) or the responsible party to pay (if someone tried to harm me). They asked me to describe what happened. Rather than just tell them the basics, I thought I would humor the poor soul at BCBSGA to read my exciting tale of cutting my finger. Notice I thought making it long enough to go down the page would be nice.

Fin's Here!

So apparently being brand new parents makes people ignore the blog world for awhile. While I was showing off Fin's present, he had already made his way into the world. Isn't he beautiful!!! Congratulations Dru and Margo...I promise we will have to come visit in Maine!!!

The DMV

Chris and I have actually lived at 7 different addresses in the 5.5 years we've been married. 2 of those years included the house that we bought and sold. Needless to say, keeping up with which company has which address can be slightly confusing. So when it came time to renew the tags on my car...yes I am still holding to my NW plates...I just can't accept having a peach on my license plate quite yet...I really didn't think it would be that hard. Here is just 3 of the addresses we've lived at in these 5 years, in the order of oldest to newest: 22750 SW Ashland Loop #160 Wilsonville, OR 97070 15884 Highpoint Dr. Sherwood, OR 97140 914 Collier Rd. #3224 Atlanta, GA 30318 Amazingly, this is what the Oregon DMV came up with...and they actually got me this envelope.

We're in Savannah with Barb!!

Our friend Barb is in town for the weekend and we started it off right by taking her to Savannah. We introduced Barb to Chic-Fil-A chicken biscuits...or chicken on a heavenly pillow as Chris puts it. Beautiful Savannah. Dinner at The Crab Shack...YUM.Bruch at Wet Willies...slurpies for adults. Midmorning snack of pralines at the candy store. Chris finally got his wedding ring tatoo which he's wanted to do for years.
