The Official Announcement

Let's answer the big question right away...no we're not going to have a baby. We have no plans for a baby right now, though in the field I work in, I can't help to worry if my ovaries are drying up at the ripe old age of 28...but anyways that is not our concern today. We have made the almost impossible decision to move back to Portland. This is a decision we've been trying to make since June. It has been almost the hardest decision we have had to make as a married couple. Our friends here have become our family and I get tearful thinking of the goodbye we're going to have to say, you really have no idea how much they've touched our lives and made our move to Atlanta a wonderful experience. I have taken a position at Oregon Reproductive Medicine and we are trusting for God to provide freelance positions for Chris. I will fly into Portland on November 26 and Chris will join me a few weeks later after he drives across the country. We would have liked to have done the drive together, but we couldn't make the timing work. So that's the big announcement...sorry for keeping so many people in the dark. I wasn't able to let my job know until today and felt it only fair they know first. One of the most exciting things about leaving one infertility practice for another is that the doctor's at each practice started together. It's sort of like leaving my work family for their extended family.

We spent Saturday afternoon hanging out with Jenny and Ian. We went to Jenny's school to watch the girls volleyball game and then Jenny showed us her artwork she spent all of last summer painting. She painted scripture all around the gym and it is amazing. She told us all about it last summer while she was doing it, but we didn't quite realize the magnitude of the project. It is amazing. Then Jenny took us to her art studio and taught me how to throw pottery. Chris already has done it, so he pretty much rocked us all.

Happy Halloween

We carved pumpkins tonight and of course Gunnar got his own pumpkin...which he tried to eat.

It's been a long time

We apologize for the absence from our blog. Life seems to be a little wild right now. Here's a quick update of what we've been up to lately. I (Caitlin) was able to make a quick trip to Portland a few weeks ago. I was able to hang out mostly with family and see a few good friends, it was short, but really nice. Here's a few pics from my nephew's soccer game. I hadn't seen my niece Addie since December, she's gotten huge!!! Chris has been interning with Greg Miller, a photographer here in Atlanta. They have shot both the Hawks and the Thrashers (pro basketball and hockey). Greg and his wife treated us to a game, it was a lot of fun!!And the biggest event in the last few weeks is...CHRIS GRADUATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both Chris' dad and my parents came out for the celebration and we took them to our favorite place, Savannah. We saw a lot of things, but mostly we ate good food!!Another huge accomplishment is that we managed to pay off every single bit of debt that we had. We feel pretty proud of ourselves considering we also paid cash for Chris to go to school these last two years. What's next for us? We're still working out details and will update as soon as we can.
