Apartment Tour #1
We have finally begun getting our place in order. Our style could be defined as a mid century modern. We like the vintage pieces, but not completely vintage. We like a mix of the old and the new. We were able to stumble across some amazing finds for our place
Our living room looks out to Forest Park, which is one of the countries urban forest preserves. We have a wonderful wall to wall window, but the shears give us some privacy to the hundreds of runners, hikers, and bikers that walk by to get to the trail head. We have a few vintage reproduction pieces - the Eames rocker and the Arc lamp, but we were able to score a few authentic vintage pieces for a steal...the credenza was found on Craigslist for a mere $30!! We also found the TV on the side of the road...yes it actually works.A plant in your home supposedly cleans 80% of the air pollution in your home within the first 24 hours...hopefully I can keep it alive.
Gunnar really only cares about a few things in this world: the couch, the bed, bones, and tennis balls.
I love that we've been gaining quite a collection of art books!
It's fun to be able to display Chris' photography.
We have a very, very tiny bedroom. We chose to use the 2nd bedroom for sleeping, which gives us lots of room in the master bedroom for photography and crafts.
It isn't finished yet. In fact you can see we still need a bedskirt. And I'm still working on the quilt that will go at the end of the bed.
This clock was such a fun project...see the before below.
Chris made this elephant for me in his bronze casting class when we were still dating. I love it!
Our hallway connects the two bedrooms and bathroom (amazing huh, hallways connect rooms). We love our superman and superwoman poster. Behind the curtain is a huge closet, but it will never be organized, so it's better to hide all the stuff.
